Frank Bianco, Chair

Frank Bianco’s career in public education spanned 47 years, during which time he served as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, school psychologist, high school principal and school superintendent. He taught graduate school and was a senior supervisor in the Massachusetts Department of Education. Frank helped to launch the Blue Hill Harbor School in 2006 and has been a board member since.

He and his wife of 60 years retired to Brooklin, Maine in 2004. They are the proud parents of four sons, and Nanna and Boppa to eight wonderful grandchildren. They love to travel, enjoy the beauty of the Maine coast and experiment with recipes. Frank honorably served in the United States Marine Corps.

Malinda Curtis, Treasurer

Malinda Curtis holds a B.A. in Education and worked with developmentally disabled adults and children in Massachusetts for eight years. She and her husband Jon homeschooled their two children while living on and rebuilding a boat down south. Her family settled on the Blue Hill Peninsula (one of their favorite places) in 2006.  Both of her children are graduates of BHHS. Malinda has served on the board for 6 years.

Sherene Cauley, Secretary

Sherene is a Board Certified Coach, licensed pagan clergy and social well-being educator. She combines her knowledge in health coaching, peace studies and wisdom traditions to offer programs and curriculum which confront the conflicts of our times and cultivate a culture of wellbeing.  Sherene lives with her family in Blue Hill and has three children: one past, one present and one future BHHS student.

Kristina Beal

Kristina Beal holds bachelor’s degrees in both Anthropology and Art and Design. She was born and raised in Bar Harbor and Blue Hill by parents who came to the area as part of the “back to the land” movement. She is an avid gardener and homeschool mom. She and her husband Tom are the proud parents of a current BHHS student.

Ian Murray

Ian spent his childhood and working life in Erie, Pennsylvania. In the 1970’s Ian served as chairperson at the Erie City Human Relations Commission and as the Chair of the Labor & Industry and Education Committees of the Erie Branch N.A.A.C.P. He practiced law specializing in criminal defense from 1982-2022. During this time, he also served on the Executive Committee of the Erie Democratic Party, and was the Erie County Democratic Party Chair from 1986-1998 as well as on the Executive Board of the Pennsylvania Democratic Committee from 1988-2020. Nationally, Ian was an elected member from Pennsylvania on the Democratic National Committee from 1982-2020, and attended the last nine Democratic Conventions as a voting delegate. He held board positions on the Hispanic Council of Erie and Sarah Reed Children’s Center, and was an elected member of the Erie City Council. Ian is now retired and living in Blue Hill, Maine, with his wife Martha Sheriff Murray.
